Description
Ultra-rare Wyler Triple Calendar Chronograph from the 1950s in the highly sought-after waterproof case, accompanied by its original box and warranty card.

Vintage triple calendar chronographs already rank among the most technically sophisticated wristwatches of their era. This example, however, takes things one decisive step further. While triple calendar chronographs occasionally appear on the market, the Waterproof version offered here ranks among the rarest of all. The additional "Waterproof" signature on the dial immediately highlights this exceptional case construction. In the 1950s, producing a reliably waterproof case for a chronograph with multiple pushers and calendar correctors represented an extraordinary technical challenge. Wyler was one of the very few manufacturers to master this feat. As a result, surviving triple calendar chronographs in this waterproof configuration are exceptionally rare today.

Founded in 1896 by Paul Wyler, the company gained worldwide recognition with the development of the revolutionary Incaflex balance wheel, introduced in 1927 and patented in 1932. Its distinctive curved spokes made it highly shock-resistant and established Wyler's reputation as one of Switzerland's most innovative watchmakers. The Waterproof models are a perfect continuation of this pioneering spirit.

Inside beats the legendary Valjoux 72C, one of the most celebrated triple calendar chronograph movements ever produced in Switzerland. Based on the renowned Valjoux 72, this hand-wound caliber adds a complete calendar with indications for the date, day of the week, and month. In addition to the hours, minutes, and running seconds, it features a 30-minute counter, a 12-hour counter, and a central date hand. To this day, the Valjoux 72C remains one of the most important and sought-after triple calendar chronograph movements in Swiss watchmaking.

The original silver dial is preserved in outstanding condition and displays only a light, even patina that beautifully enhances the watch's authentic vintage character. The red central date hand points to the blue date scale along the outer edge of the dial, while the apertures at 12 o'clock display the day of the week and the month. Luminous hour markers, blued syringe hands, and finely engine-turned subdials give the watch its timeless elegance.

Equally impressive is the 36.5 mm stainless steel case. For a wristwatch that is around 80 years old, it remains in exceptionally beautiful, unpolished original condition. The sharply defined lugs, crisp case lines, and only light signs of wear make this case a true delight for discerning vintage collectors.

This exceptional collector's piece is further enhanced by its original Wyler "Waterproof" presentation box and the original Wyler-Vetta Incaflex warranty card from the 1950s.
