Heuer Autavia 1163 GMT MK2

Second execution GMT - very rare - excellent condition

Description
After the launch of the Autavia 1163 in 1969, Heuer announced another useful tool watch - the Autavia 1163 GMT. The famous automatic Heuer Calibre 11 was modified with a 24-hour GMT module.

Due to the serial number, which is clearly readable between the lugs of the offered watch we could determine the year of manufacture to 1970. When regarding this piece it is really hard to believe it is over 45 years old. The condition is excellent. The watch was in the service and has been lightly polished. Nevertheless the case edges are still sharp. The dial has no scratches or marks. Service sticker is still attached to the caseback. The original luminous mass is distributed perfectly over the baton markers, hour, minute and GMT hands (see pictures). The colorful interior gives the watch a cool, sporty look. The pushers and the original Heuer crown also have a perfect condition. The offered watch is the second version (MK2) from the Heuer Autavia 1163 GMT series. It is reported that the MK2 was only 6 months in production and thus considered one of the rarest GMT chronographs of Heuer.

Another special fact: the watch can be found in the "Heuer Autavia Chronographs" book by Richard Crostwaite & Paul Gavin, where the most exceptional Autavias are presented (see pictures).

Note: this watch has a NOS bezel, the original bezel is included.
