Sexima Incablock Diver

helium valve - bakelite bezel - creamy lume

Description
This beauty is a vintage diver's watch from the Swiss watch manufacturer Sexima from the 1970's.

Technically this watch is very special due to the helium valve in the winding crown. This important component ensured that the overpressure that was generated during diving was able to escape through that tiny hole. Without the helium valve, there is a great danger that the watch glass will burst due to the enormous overpressure. Even well-known professional diving watches did not have such a helium valve.

Another cool feature of this Sexima is the rotatable bakelite bezel, which is divided into a wine-red and a light-blue half. The black dial has a nice contrast thanks to the creamy tritium color in the hour markers and hands. The square date window is at 3 o'clock.

Condition report
Dial: flawless condition, original tritium lume tested under UV light, even creamy patina in the hour markers and hands, signed "T SWISS MADE T".

Case: stainless steel case with natural signs of wear, visible engravings on the back, radial engraving: "Incabloc Automatic Swiss Case Stainless Steel", central engraving: "Loengrin".

Bezel: blue and red bakelite bezel in perfect condition without scratches, rotates smoothly in both directions.

Movement: Incablock automatic movement, timegrapher +/-20 s/d, amplitude 316.

Summing-Up
This is a finely preserved and cool diver's watch from the 1970s that has rare features such as a helium valve and a bakelite bezel. It is also one of the increasingly rare real bargains in vintage watches.
