This exceptional Rolex Date 1503 is far more than just an elegant dress watch – it is a rare prototype dial originating from SINGER, the renowned dial manufacturer behind some of the most iconic creations for brands like Rolex, Tudor, Omega, and Universal Genève.

SINGER regularly presented its clients with newly developed dial prototypes – many of them experimental, visionary, and often ahead of their time. While some of these designs made it into series production, others remained archived, never intended for public release.

The dial fitted to this watch is one of those rare design experiments created for the Oyster Perpetual Date. Its fine grey sunburst finish is accentuated by unusually short applied hour markers – a design element virtually unseen on Rolex watches. This gives the dial a distinctive clarity and balance. Particularly noteworthy is its exceptional condition: the dial has remained flawless.

The case adds another layer of uniqueness. Crafted in 14K yellow gold, the caseback bears the "R.W.C. Case: 14k yellow gold case in great condition – light signs of wear – full profile – intact numbers between the lugs – deep gold hallmarks on the lugs – "RWC LTD" stamp on the back – sold to England – all gold hallmarks present on the back.
