Description
In the 1960s, the Zenith Cairelli CP-2 was used by the Italian Army land-based and in the air. The delivery of the watches to the military took place via the retailer A.Cairelli in Rome, whose signature "A.Cairelli Roma" is seen on the dial and caseback of these watches.

Most Cairellis (total ca. 2500) were given to the military. The example offered here is the "civil" version of which a maximum of 500 pieces were produced. The excellent condition makes this Zenith Cairelli an extraordinary watch. Sharp unpolished case, mint dial with original lume, flawless rotating bezel - this watch leaves nothing to be desired. The original crown is marked with the NATO star. The original engraving on the caseback characterizes the rare "civil" variant of the Cairelli.

The mint condition combined with significant history and great rarity transforms this military watch into a valuable and coveted collector's item.
